Why choose this white upholstery foam
- Firm, high density support. A dense seating grade that gives firm, even support for everyday sitting and holds its shape.
- Ready cut. Square, clean edges that slip straight into your cushion covers.
- Six thicknesses. From 1 inch padding for chairs and headboards up to 6 inch deep sofa and day-bed seats.
- UK fire safety. Combustion modified (CMHR) foam that meets the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 (as amended).
- Easy to trim at home. It cuts neatly with an electric carving knife or a long serrated bread knife.
Which thickness do I need?
As a rule, match the depth of your cushion cover's side panel (gusset).

|---|---|
| 1 in (2.5 cm) | Thin padding for chair backs, headboards, piano and dressing-table stools, and craft projects |
| 2 in (5 cm) | Dining chair seat pads, kitchen chairs, bar stools and office chair re-padding |
| 3 in (7.5 cm) | Bench seats, window seats, storage ottomans, garden bench cushions and pet beds |
| 4 in (10 cm) | Sofa and armchair seat cushions, caravan seating and campervan seat cushions |
| 5 in (12.5 cm) | Deeper sofa and armchair seats, boat and cabin seating, firmer caravan beds |
| 6 in (15 cm) | Day beds, floor seating, extra-deep sofa seats and rock-and-roll bed cushions |

Measuring tips
- Measure the cover, not the old foam. Old foam shrinks and flattens with age.
- Measure seam to seam for length, width and depth.
- For a full, plump look, choose foam about 1 cm (½ in) bigger than the cover.
Care
- Spot clean with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or dry clean.
- If your foam arrives compressed or rolled, allow 24 to 48 hours for it to recover to its full size and thickness.
- A light new-foam smell is normal and fades quickly in a well-ventilated room.
- White foam can slowly turn slightly yellow with exposure to light and air. This is natural and does not affect comfort or performance.
- Keep away from open flames, heaters and direct heat sources.
Questions people ask
Is this foam firm or soft?
It is a firm, high density seating foam that suits sofas, chairs and bench seats.
Can I cut it myself?
Yes. Mark your line with a marker and a straight edge, then cut with an electric carving knife for the cleanest edge. A long serrated bread knife also works.
Can I use it outdoors?
It is made for indoor furniture and cushions. Outdoors, use it inside a water-resistant cover.
